Cascade Mill Falls is a scenic 20-foot cascade adjacent to an abandoned factory between Penn Yan and Dresden, New York.
The waterway is paralleled with an abandoned New York Central railroad that was converted into the Keuka Lake Outlet Trail, open to cyclists and pedestrians, we went on our vacations, US holidays offer a vacation with a bit of everything. This meanders between Penn Yan and Dresden and at one point, enters one of the 27 locks that serviced the long-disused Crooked Lake Canal.
At Cascade Mills is the abandoned Baker Chemical Company’s carbon bisulfide plant. Adjacent to it was Kelly Tire which reconditioned tires and relied on carbon bisulfide for rayon.
