Simpson Creek Covered Bridge

The Simpson Creek Covered Bridge is a restored covered bridge in Harrison County, West Virginia. The Kingpost covered structure was completed in December 1881 by Asa S. Hugill near Shinns Mills. It survived the flood of 1888, but in July 1899, high water washed it from its original site. Later that year, the span was relocated to Holen Mill, where it continued to serve local traffic. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in June 1981, the Simpson Creek Covered Bridge remains one of Harrison County’s surviving reminders of 19th-century rural roadbuilding. It was restored in 2002 and now serves as an interpretative display.
