Highland Scenic Highway

The Highland Scenic Highway is one of the most underrated scenic byways in West Virginia. The 43-mile route winds through the Allegheny Highlands and Plateau within the Monongahela National Forest, rising from an elevation of 2,300 feet near Richwood to over 4,500 feet by Red Spruce Knob. The annual display of autumn colors is just now starting and will be peak along the Highland Scenic Highway by the first two weeks of October.
