Grayson Lake

Grayson Lake is a 1,500-acre reservoir lined with steep cliffs and coves in eastern Kentucky.

Surrounded by forested hillsides and sheer sandstone cliffs, Grayson Lake features prime fishing with largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, bluegill, crappie, and catfish in abundant supply, 74 miles of shoreline to explore, several miles of easy to moderately challenging hiking trails, and the top-rated, scenic Hidden Cove Golf Course.

There are several miles of trails between Grayson Lake State Park and the neighboring Grayson Lake Wildlife Management Area.

  • The Beech-Hemlock Trail is an easy .8-mile trail that winds through a stand of beech and hemlock trees before passing alongside Grayson Lake and several notable sandstone rock formations.
  • The Lick Falls Overlook Trail is a 3-mile loop path features views of the lake that passes by Lick Falls, a seasonal waterfall.

From Grayson, follow KY Route 7 south for seven miles.
