Platte Clove Wilderness Preserve

From Saugerties, follow NY 212 west for 3.2 miles. Turn right onto Blue Mountain Road and follow for 1.4 miles. Turn left onto West Saugerties Road. Follow for 4.5 miles as the roadway narrows and climbs the mountain.

From NY 23A just west of Tannersville, follow Bloomer Road/County Road 16 for 6 miles.

  • Parking: A small pull-off along Platte Clove Road is located at 42.133141, -74.084756 which can hold 3 to 4 vehicles. A secondary parking area with room for many vehicles is located just east at the Huckleberry Point Trailhead at 42.133459, -74.082421.

Recommended Viewing Times

Visiting Platte Clove is best during the spring after heavy rains for water flow and autumn for the color. The waterfall can become a low or a trickle during the hot summer months.
