Alger Falls

Alger Falls is a small roadside cascade that is about 15 feet in height.

Tannery Falls & Memorial Falls

The Twin Waterfalls Nature Sanctuary features Tannery Falls (also referred to as Olson Falls), a 40-foot drop along Tannery Creek, and Memorial Falls, a 40-foot drop along an unnamed stream. Both waterfalls are seasonal.

The land for the preserve was acquired in 1986 after funds were raised to honor Rudy Olson, a member of the Michigan Nature Association. The sanctuary today features a half-mile of trails under soaring sandstone cliffs that connect the two waterfalls.

Directions: From downtown Munising, follow County Road 58 northeast to Nestor Street. Turn right and then turn left on Cleveland Street. Park along the street. The trailhead is at the junction of Cleveland and Nestor Street.
