Deh-ga-ya-soh Falls

Located along Deh-ga-ya-soh Creek, this tall but hidden waterfall is one of the best escapes from the crowds at Letchworth State Park.

Deh-ga-ya-soh Falls

Deh-ga-ya-soh Falls is located just a few hundred yards downstream from Middle Falls but is all but invisible from the west side of the gorge. A park road crosses over Deh-ga-ya-soh Creek near the start of the cascades.

The best view of the waterfall is from Genesee Valley (Trail 7), not far from the Parade Grounds parking area, on the east rim of the Genesee River. It is possible to reach the base of Deh-ga-ya-soh Falls from the west rim via a trail that begins near the bridge over Deh-ga-ya-soh Creek, which quickly becomes a scramble down piles of slate and unstable hillsides to the river bottoms. In wet weather, prepare to bring along rope and sturdy boots.
