Four waterfalls, one glen — the payoff grows the farther upstream you go.
Johns Creek Glen holds four waterfalls worth the trip, and they get progressively harder to reach as you work upstream.
Lower Johns Creek Falls is visible from the roadside—a small cascade you can take in without leaving the car, though it’s better on foot. Above it, an informal trail follows the creek to two more cascades in the ten-to-twenty-foot range. Reaching them means walking in the streambed for stretches, so plan on wet boots and slow going over the rock.
The payoff is Upper Johns Creek Falls at the top of the glen, a steep cascade dropping roughly forty feet. It’s the largest of the four and the one that justifies the scramble to get there.
