Laurel Falls

Laurel Falls is an approximate 30-foot-high cascade along Laurel Creek.

From Ansted, follow US Route 60 east for 1.5 miles. Turn left onto County Road 3 (Saturday Road) and follow north and east for 4 miles. Make a slight left to stay on County Road 3 (Saturday Road) and follow north for 2.5 miles. Turn left onto County Road 3/3 (Lucas Road) and follow for 2.8 miles. The last 3 miles will be parallel to Laurel Creek.

  • There is a rough gravel road from County Road 3/3 (Lucas Road) to the Gauley River, but it appears to be abandoned. There is room for one vehicle at the top to park. It is a walk down the abandoned road and then a scramble to Laurel Falls.
  • Typical passenger cars can easily travel along County Road 3 and County Road 3/3, but the abandoned road requires a high-clearance 4WD vehicle or a UTV.
