Sandstone Falls is the largest waterfall on the New River within the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve in Sandstone, West Virginia. The cascades span the river where it is 1,500 feet wide, dropping 10 to 25 feet. The waterfall marks the transition of the New River from a broad river of large bottomlands to a narrow mountain river through a boulder-strewn gorge as it makes its way toward the Gauley River.
