Claypool Falls

Claypool Falls, also known as Meadow Creek Falls, is a classic 20-foot-high plunge waterfall along Meadow Creek near the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve. A rough and slippery trail snakes down to the base of the waterfall; a rope may be needed for access down the hillside.

Claypool Falls, also known as Meadow Creek Falls, is a classic 20-foot-high plunge waterfall along Meadow Creek.

From Interstate 64 at Sandstone, follow WV County Route 7 north along the New River for 2.7 miles. Continue on north and east along Meadow Creek along WV County Route 7/1 (Claypool Road) for 1.5 miles. A one or two-car pull-off is located along the creek; do not park in front of the gate across from the waterfall site.
