Stonelick Covered Bridge

The Stonelick Covered Bridge, also known as the Perintown Covered Bridge, was built in 1878 as a Howe through truss structure spanning Stonelick Creek in Clermont County, Ohio. Recognized for its historical and architectural significance, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. Over the years, the bridge experienced several challenges—including vehicular accidents, fire damage, and erosion—contributing to its gradual deterioration.

In response to these issues, local authorities initiated a series of repair and rehabilitation efforts starting in the early 2010s. A comprehensive restoration project was undertaken that involved reinforcing the structure, replacing deteriorated siding and roofing, and carefully salvaging a substantial portion of the original timber. The restoration also sought to preserve the bridge’s historic character, notably restoring its traditional barn-red exterior. The completed project allowed the bridge to reopen to traffic in 2015, ensuring that this historic landmark continued to serve both as a functional crossing and as a cherished piece of American heritage for travelers exploring the region.
